What am I writing?

I’m a writer, she says. Repeatedly. So far I have to prove that to you yet. No stories to be found on here, no way of telling what genre I write or who my target audience is.

Currently I have several projects lined up in different stages of completion.

“Pirate captain Tim” is a children’s story about a fed up knight swapping his sword and horse for a ship and a puffin (because parrots are hard to come by in Scotland). Tim and Puffin Macmuffin sail across the seven seas looking for treasures and adventures.

“Loving and Sweet” is about a sleuthing undertaker to be, with the ability to see actual ghosts. Hemer Hemera Sweet, supported by her loyal housekeeper Mrs Loving, mortician Eliza and of course Keef the dog unravel the murder of her predecessor while trying to save the funeral home at the same time.

“Carol’s Christmas ” is a Christmas novella I hopefully get finished in time for Christmas. Yet another adaptation of Scrooge you might think and yes, the inspiration came from that corner. But Carol is too nice. Her son treats her like a housekeeper, chauffeur, and personal cash machine, her ex walks all over her, and she is stuck in a shitty job. Then in the weeks leading up to Christmas this stranger shows up at her home, claiming to be an angel and sent to change her life.

That’s the three big ones right now. I have another novel laying about, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to end that satisfyingly. Shame, it’s about 75% done and I think it’s pretty good – apart from the elusive ending. Set in Germany, and written in German, starting out in the late 1870s and making its way up to present time it tells the love story between two women.

Then I have the odd flashfiction going, mostly drabbles which I will post in A Flash of Fiction soon as I can remember where I put my notes… Fingers crossed I’ll find them this week 😉
